The Chamber accepts applications for the annual Leadership Vance Class beginning in December of each year. Interested professionals who live or work in Vance County are invited to apply and updated applications are available here.
A maximum of 25 individuals are chosen to participate and are selected to represent all backgrounds, occupations and geographic areas of Vance County.
Leadership Vance is designed to create a group of informed and dedicated leaders who will contribute to the community.
Program graduate Jon Dorsey highly recommends the program. “Leadership Vance is a wonderful way for people new to the area, as well as Henderson natives to learn more about our community,” he said.
The program begins in early February and concludes in June. The cost of the 10-session program is $325 for Chamber members and includes all expenses, meals and materials. Non-Chamber members are welcome to participate at a rate of $400.
The program is organized by topic, and participants will be exposed to various aspects of Henderson and Vance County, specifically in regard to city and county government, health and community resources, economic development, agriculture and natural resources, history, media, criminal justice and law.
Deadline for registration is the second Tuesday in January. For more information, contact Annette Roberson at the Chamber at 438-8414 or by e-mailing her at email@example.com.
